Jennifer Wong is responsible for IT QM at Molina Healthcare supporting business application for over 20K employees. Molina is an incredibly fast growing F500 company with revenues growing from $5 billion to $18 billion over the course of 5 years. Molina needed a way to keep up with business growth and new requirements, which meant that Molina had to speed up their release cycles and Jennifer’s team needed to test software faster and more frequent. Molina moved to Agile Development and Continuous Delivery/Integration and was able to test software 5 times faster while using industry leading tools and cutting edge technologies such as HPe(Microfocus), Jira, Delphix, Empirix Hammer, MobileLabs, etc.
How did Jennifer’s team do this?
One of the key element of testing in the digital world revolves around test data – the more and high quality data the better the predictability of product quality. Delphix was heavily leveraged by virtualizing 5,000 copies of the database for Dev and Test which allows developers and testers to work in parallel on their own copies of data. With virtual databases, data refreshes that took days now takes hours or minutes.
